It is you, Mr Minister and your party ,who are Playing with fire
Pertaining to the boar bristle brushes raids, I put it to all Malaysians, that it is BN and the Minister Hamzah Zainudin himself who is playing with fire for allowing such raids to happen in the first place. Its BN and the likes of Ahmad Maslan who is playing with fire for investing in the people's disunity. This is not an issue of Muslims VS Non-muslims, but an issue of BN 's two-faced politics and their governance through fear and division. This is not about Muslims imposing religious hegemony over non muslims but BN's politics of race and religion. Malaysians of all faiths must stand up to this kleptocratic regime, and unite in removing these zealots from power. I need not parrot MO1's kleptocratic credentials; this case demonstrates their zealotry and hypocrisy. Raids were conducted on hardware shops across the country by enforcement officials from the The Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism, seizing over 2000 alleged boar bristled paintbrushes. Unsurprisingly, these were widely reportedly in mainstream media. It was under the pretense that such 'sensitive' items must be compliant of a certain order, requiring labelling and separation. Trade Description Order (goods made of any part of a pig or a dog), 2013, states that any person in the course of conducting business with any goods made of any part of a dog or a pig must be displayed separately from other goods and marked with a clear expression communicating that 'this is made from pigs or dogs'. Such heavy handed and heavily publicised raids, with threats of penalties as high as 3 years imprisonment and RM1 million fine, are non sensical. It is clear that there is a hidden motive- likely a political one- behind such actions. Certain parties are playing with fires of hatred, out to incite reaction of anger, outbursts of defensive emotions ultimately profiting from deeper polarisations and a prevailing seige mentality. Whilst we welcome the KPDNKK Minister's announcement that the raids will cease with immediate effect, it has not been made clear whether or not the intimidated and out of pocket traders whose perfectly legal products have been seized will have their inventory returned. It is also not mentioned whether or not the legal actions threatened will be followed through with. I call on the the minister to make his stand unequivocally clear on these matters. It must also be brought to the fore, that Ahmad Maslan, the BN deputy minister for International Trade and Industry earlier also spoke about imposing an AP on pig bristled paint brushes and other sensitive items. Not unfamilar with playing with fire, this opportunistic and brainless publicity hitch hike is not only crazy, but clearly shows BN is unworthy and unfit to govern Malaysia. Hamzah Zainuddin cited the reason of Malaysia being multi racial and multi religious for the ceasure of the raids. And he also made assertions that the raids , or those opposed to the raids as 'playing with fire'. It is you, Mr Minister and your party ,who are Playing with fire.
