Farewell Madiba

This morning saw the departure of a man worthy of so much more than humanity can offer in this lifetime; a man whose iron resolve and tender love for his people, freed his nation from the chains of apartheid. Nelson Mandela has finally finished his ‘long walk for freedom’ in these humanly realms. The Malaysian Democratic Action Party hereby expresses our shared sadness with the world for losing one of its most extraordinary human beings ever lived. Through his self sacrifice of 27 years under political imprisonment, the persecution he endured for freedom, justice and equality, he fought on to get his entire nation to change their minds. DAP and Malaysia extend our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family of Nelson Mandela, and also the people of South Africa.The world maybe mourning together with South Africans of the loss this great Hero, but his words and undying spirit will live on. The DAP and Malaysians are honoured to have witnessed his struggles and acheivements in the our lifetime. His undying will to uphold social justice, to combat inequality and apartheid, his life and his journeys will surely continue to inspire us for centuries to come. In life, he was a beacon of hope for those who remain suffering from oppression and injustices, a hope that one day the pain will end with the persecuted standing in triumph. In death, he will be the pantheon of Justice, equality and unyielding resolve for harmony and love amongst the people of a nation.
